As the race approached, there were reports of trailers pulling over for chains, 18 wheelers sliding down the interstate on black ice, and comm drops freezing in their containers.  When you combined the freezing cold weather surrounding the event, with the blazing hot internet rumors of index shattering pre-race testing, you knew that this was going to be a great race.  The venue lived up to all of the hype...  Full Story

Vince Ito, and TJ Hynd, who have been a very important part of getting and keeping the SCCEC going.  They are currently working on a few things bigger than slot cars, but we know they'll be back soon.  And thanks for all of the racers who help us out at every SCCEC event.  We appreciate it. By the way, this was taken recently.  They aren't done.

                        2011 Rule Updates

.860 cans, "Big Wire"arms, "Resistance Spec" arms, legal in Sport Compact.

Looking for a place to try that new .860 setup loaded with that "D20" armature?  Well, the racers spoke, and we have listened. Sport Compact racers have always been the first to use hot, new technology.  And Competition Eliminator has always had a class for just about every conceivable combination racers could imagine.

It is with those two thoughts that the SCCEC has decided to allow OEM .860 cans, and OEM armatures designated as "Big Wire" or "Resistance Spec" to run in the Sport Compact category.   When you combine the wide open body rules, with the wide open motor rules, Sport Compact is ready for anyone and anything!

The Sportsman ranks of drag racing employ some of the most deadly racers who may never see the glory of winning the "big race".  Your weekly bracket racer fine tunes his lane prep, vehicle performance, and driving skills on a consistent basis,  which enables him to make improvements to his program every week.  Once that racer feels that he has a car ready for the show, he usually makes a grand entrance.
